IANGEL Attorney Training: CA Vacatur Law

On October 30th, IANGEL produced an attorney training specifically focused on California’s vacatur law for survivors of human trafficking. About 25 attorneys were trained on the basics of human trafficking, trauma-informed representation of survivors, and criminal records clearance.

IANGEL Supports New CA Law Providing Protection to Survivors of Human Trafficking

AB 1735 encourages victims to seek help from skilled professionals
without fear of penalty from their exploiters. This bill also works
to expand the privacy of victims of human trafficking
when they seek professional help. AB 1735 was passed by a ⅔ vote on August 15, and will go into effect on January 1, 2020.
