Zala Ahmad has over 15 years of experience working in the field of international development, with a focus on education, human rights, and economic development. She is deeply committed to social and economic progress in her home country of Afghanistan and has a passion for rectifying social justice and gender equality through education and economic empowerment of Afghan women.

In 2021 Zala founded Safe Path Prosperity an organization in Afghanistan employing women in Kabul to sustainably manufacture washable menstrual hygiene products and educational materials for local distribution. She was also the founding director of the NGO HOLD Afghanistan, where she implemented programs in the field of girls’ education, women’s economic empowerment, and human rights.
