IANGEL is looking for a talented designer to create visual content and serve as our first Haratani-Groenendyke Artist Intern!

About the internship

The Haratani-Groenendyke Artist Internship Fund will provide a stipend to an artist who will design and create visual content to strategically target our growth and impact. The artist will primarily work on creating graphics for our Teen Information Project (TIP), our Girls’ Rights Project (GRP) and our advocacy work. IANGEL’s TIP is developing a curriculum to educate teens about their reproductive legal rights. Our Artist Intern will help translate the curriculum into visual teaching tools to educate and engage youth, so we can provide this critical legal information to middle and high school-age students while integrating rights and culture.

The Artist Intern will work 15 hours/week for 4 weeks and receive a $1,000 stipend.

Responsibilities

  • Visualize, design and create original content to contribute to IANGEL’s overall branding strategy

  • Develop a series of graphic designs to fit IANGEL’s areas of programmatic work such as: health and reproductive rights, peace and security and empowerment.

  • Work with the IANGEL staff to develop designs for our current programs and advocacy efforts

What we are looking for

  • Ability to work remotely with your own device for 15 hours per week for four weeks during the Summer

  • Comfortable working independently and remotely

  • Strong interest and passion for gender justice

  • Knowledge of digital media software—Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other graphic design software

  • WordPress experience a plus
