On September 16, 2022, 22 year old Mahsa Amini was arrested in Iran for allegedly not wearing her hijab properly. Following brutal treatment at the hands of Iran’s “morality police,” she died. Her death has sparked outrage and protests across Iran and around the world. Brave women are leading these protests, under the banner of Women, Life, Freedom, risking arrest, imprisonment, and death. IANGEL condemns the killing of Mahsa Amini and the Iranian government’s violent crackdown. We stand in solidarity with these women, with the brave people of Iran, and all those who stand up for human rights around the world.
