Briefing on Women’s Rights in Uganda and Afghanistan

Featuring Annette Mukabera and Raihana Popalzai

On March 18, 2014, the International Action Network for Gender Equity and Law (IANGEL) welcomed Hon. Annette Mukabera from Uganda and Raihana Popalzai from Afghanistan for a conversation about the status of women’s rights in their respective countries.

This event was graciously hosted by Hanson Bridgett LLP

With 40 guests in attendance, the room was full, showing that so many people in our community are keenly interested in these issues. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to hear from them and felt inspired by their words.

The cause of women’s rights is bigger than all of us and there are many obstacles ahead.  But by connecting with amazing women such as Hon. Mukabera and Ms. Popalzai, we gain the insights and inspiration to continue the work – for ourselves, our mothers, our sisters, our daughters, and all who come after.
